Literature Text

The Cotswolds. Rolling hills rose up from the horizon like a school of leaping dolphins. The lush greens and earthy browns reminded people of scampering squirrels and snoozing sheep. Not top secret experimental laboratories. But that was what was there. Nestled between the welcoming woods and the racing rivers stood the T.I.M.E. laboratories. It crouched in the meadows like a panther preparing to leap. The stocky building was a blot on the otherwise perfect landscape. It was seldom visited, but then why would anyone want to visit there. The laboratories had had no use since they were set up 30 years ago.

They had been instructed to monitor and record all instances of time variances and movements. However due to the general lack of such occurrences, as the technology had not yet been discovered, the laboratories had become forgotten and assumed redundant. The roads and tracks leading in were now used only by the junior scientists as they went out to collect groceries and other essentials, such as pieces of twisty glasswork and strange bubbly chemicals (its amazing what you can buy at Tesco now). However the laboratories were still there. And with nothing else to do the labs had begin experimenting. Trying to achieve the ultimate in great leaps.

Time Travel.

However ‘trying’ had been the operative word. They had not actually achieved any thing, besides a lot of loud bangs and some rather impressive explosions.  Never that is, until now…
This will be science fiction by the end of the first proper chapter.
